XL North Spencer Luallen Technical Sales Manager SW LRXL North is pleased to announce that Spencer Luallen, son of XL North’s National Sales Director, Bill Luallen, has joined our company as Technical Sales Manager for the US south west region. As a recent marketing graduate from the University of Dayton, Spencer is the perfect addition to the XL North team! A knowledge of present day business marketing standards combined with his vast experience as a flooring maintenance technician give Spencer a unique perspective into the world of commercial floor care.

Spencer graduated from the University of Dayton in December of 2016 with a degree in marketing. He also provided depth to the offensive line of the Dayton Flyers football team, playing in games all four years of his college career and starting as left guard his last two seasons. While studying marketing at school, Spencer notes, “I benefited from many real life marketing scenarios and applications shared by local and regional businesses.” Those experiences, along with years of informal apprenticeship under his father and XL North’s President, Ed Sisk, provide Spencer with a considerable understanding of the flooring maintenance industry. His varied knowledge of product and process will be an invaluable resource to XL North’s current and future customers.

Spencer’s role as the Technical Sales Manager SW is a newly created position within XL North and he serves clients in the US south west along with Utah and Colorado. He has considerable insight into the XLN line up of products, having used them regularly while working as a maintenance technician for both Rite Rug and Legacy Maintenance Systems in Columbus, OH. Spencer is excited about his new role in the organization and explains, “I hope to broaden our network of XL North customers and contacts, and discover and develop new opportunities throughout the south west region.”

He’s often asked, “Why take a career in commercial flooring maintenance?”, and Spencer offers a couple of reasons:

  • Familiarity
“I’ve grown up in the floor care industry picking up on trade know how from my dad, Ed, and others in the industry and while working in the field during college breaks as a maintenance technician. It seemed like a natural fit and logical transition after graduating from college.”
  • Genuine Passion
“The technical side of flooring maintenance, a need for knowledge of chemistry and procedure, just comes easy to me and I thoroughly enjoy the problem-solving aspect that goes along with the job.”

When asked what truly excites him about the future of floor care, Spencer indicates, “The current industry growth has me really energized.” He’s encouraged by the many product and installation businesses that are adding maintenance to their service offering, and networking with other young professionals in the industry allows Spencer to reach out to those that are just as motivated and passionate about flooring maintenance’s abundant opportunities.
